The Charles M. Boesel Scholarship Fund — named for a longtime owner and director of RAC — provides financial support to boys who would otherwise be unable to attend camp. The first scholarship was awarded in 1968; since then, hundreds more have been given to worthy boys and girls. While the focus of the Boesel Fund has shifted to assisting boys who wish to attend Red Arrow, we still offer assistance to the daughters of RAC alumni who wish to attend summer camp as well.
Eligibility for a scholarship is based on evidence of family financial need and the boy’s readiness for camp without regard to race, religion, gender, place of residence, or previous camping affiliation. Partial scholarships are awarded with the expectation that families will also contribute a portion in partnership with camp.
Scholarship applications are open and reviewed by the scholarship review committee as they are received prior to each upcoming camp season beginning in June. A limited number of scholarships are available each year. Applicants may apply for a scholarship more than once and siblings may apply as well. Interested in applying for a scholarship? Please first contact Executive Director Eric Roche to learn more about the process and ask any questions you may have.
