Greetings to all of our camp families,
Another gorgeous week is in our rear view mirror, and what a week we had at camp! The Chateau returned on Wednesday to a crowd of boys waiting to hear their stories. The smiles on those young men’s faces is something that I cannot even begin to describe. They safely returned to camp, full of pride that can only come from an experience like the Canadian. Yet, Chateau was not the only cabin that ventured out into the wilderness last week. Chalet returned from Isle Royale, F and G returned from canoe trips, and H and Castle experienced the fantastic views along the Superior Hiking Trail. Yesterday morning, Cabins A, B, C, and D all headed out on their three day trips. We are very excited to see them tomorrow afternoon to hear about their adventures.
This past weekend, the boys of Red Arrow headed over to Camp Nicolet for our annual War Canoe race. Our canoe, full of 10 senior campers, took on the girls of Nicolet and narrowly came away with a victory. The staff also walked away victorious in their race against the Nicolet staff. We had an absolutely wonderful time at the event and we are very thankful to have such a strong relationship with the girls over at Camp Nicolet.
The second half of this week is packed full of action and a few new experiences for the boys. Thursday evening the boys will experience the first ever Red vs Gray Days (Color Wars) kickoff bonfire. The fire preludes two full days of competition that will conclude with an all-camp relay that ends with two boys on each team from the Chateau building a fire to burn a rope that is four feet off the ground. The energy from capture the flag and red vs gray team events has been building all summer and we cannot wait to see who comes out on top.
As always, all parents, alumni and guests are invited to chapel on Sunday morning. Chapel will begin at 11:30am and is immediately followed by a cookout, where all are welcome to grab a bite to eat.
